Papers of Harrison H. Kerr include a 1855 copy book recording Ohio School Library books borrowed and letters sent, Civil War diaries and correspondence, sketches of Camp Chase in Columbus, Ohio, G.A.R. souvenir rosters, broadside histories of the 58th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, photographs, and other family papers. Kerr's diaries and letters offer details of the activities of the 58th O.V.I as well as news from the 76th O.V.I.

Harrison H. Kerr (1839-1901), born in North Georgetown, Ohio, served with his brother, Ezra, as privates in Company D of the 58th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. He was taken prisoner at the Battle of Chickasaw Bayou, Miss. on Dec. 29, 1862. In 1888 he joined the Memorial Post No. 141, Grand Army of the Republic. From the description of Harrison H.
